Issue: Amana Dryer Not Heating

Cause: Faulty Thermostat

After partially disassembling the dryer, the technician quickly identified that the thermostat appeared burnt and had malfunctioned. Further investigation revealed that when the element failed, the dryer started to overheat, but a safety component called a thermal fuse had blown to prevent the overheating from reaching dangerous levels.

Solution: Replacement of Thermostat and Thermal Fuse

The technician explained the issue to the customer and showed them the faulty and burnt thermostat. They provided the exact cost of the repair, which was approved by the customer. As the Amana dryer had already been partially disassembled to access the thermostat and its wiring, and since the technician had prior knowledge of the model and the problem, they came prepared with the necessary parts on their truck. Consequently, the dryer was soon restored to perfect working order. The technician ran the dryer for several minutes to ensure it was operating correctly and heating appropriately, and they demonstrated this to the customer.

Additionally, for safety purposes, the technician cleaned out the accumulated lint from inside the dryer before reassembling it.
